Many lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals seek out treatment for depression and anxiety, however, these common mental health conditions may actually be masking a deeper problem rooted in the development of a secure LGBT+ identity.

I offer comprehensive, affirmative LGBT+ counselling to any lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, etc individuals, as well as compassionate emotional support and guidance.

I strive to create a highly confidential, judgement-free space, allowing you to express your feelings and openly discuss any potential problems you may be facing.

Through my training and experience, I have become highly skilled in working with young people and adults who identify as LGBT+, as well as their partners and families. Whether you need help and guidance during your coming out process, coping with stigma, or would like to learn more about supporting your LGBT+ friends and family, I will be able to help. I offer guidance on a range of issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity, including:

  • Gender fluidity and gender dysphoria
  • Homophobia and bullying
  • Relationships
  • Sexual intimacy
  • Sexual behaviour
  • Spiritual or religious conflicts
  • Discrimination

Coming Out

Coming out is an important process in the life of any LGBT+ individual. While this step can seem daunting and frightening due to the uncertainty of how your loved ones may react, it can be incredibly freeing and liberating and can reduce the chances of depression, anxiety, and self-esteem related problems. Whether you are looking to come out to family, close friends, or co-workers, or all of the above, I offer professional support to guide you through the process. I will also ensure you are comfortable and confident communicating who you are to others, as well as yourself, and that you are safe and supported throughout.
